BORING ADMINISTRATION:   I don't like posting boring administrative items, but this is a page I thought I should post. I took down this page before, but for various reasons I thought I should put it up again. If you don't like boring administrative matters, you may want to click over to another page.

PROPOSALS, IDEAS, ETC.:   Perhaps due to the popularity of this set of webpages, I've been approached with interesting proposals regarding set-top boxes, digital TV, interactive TV, internet TV, etc. over the past several years. I've been approached with interesting proposals as well as borderline harebrained ideas. To those confused newbies (and there are folks out there who are still confused about the internet, etc.), this is primarily an INFORMATION set of webpages. Although I may have pages with links to various TV products and other related products, this set of webpages is a freely-accessible information website and is not part of a corporate manufacturer or network. The major public purpose of this set of webpages is to help people follow and understand the developing interactive advanced digital TV media and industry.

WILD WEST INTERNET:   In these "wild west" days of the internet, and even in the aftermath of the dot-com crash with cyber-entrepreneurs acting like "peanut farmers" looking for "rain," and particularly with many businesses trying to latch onto the potential bonanza presented by digital television, interactive TV, set-top boxes, internet TV, PC-TV, etc., you can imagine the messages I've received over the past several years since 1996 when I first started posting my webpages. If you are in the business of interactive advanced digital television and if you've seen companies come and go, then you can imagine the background against which this boring administration page was written. On the one hand, there are good well-intentioned people out there with interesting ideas which appear to be promising (yes, even some of the borderline harebrained ideas). And then there are the folks who come across as sounding like rambling eccentric scientists who expect everyone to blindly accept whatever they may be touting without question -- please note that I will ask questions about whatever you are doing or proposing because, well, I don't know what you are specifically doing. And then there are also those other folks who turn out to be of the johnny-come-lately variety with yet another VOS (very-odious-smelling) proposal and who selfishly seek to induce some sort of action. So, if you send email my way asking that I help you with your business venture, please keep in mind that I may not be able to help you particularly if you want me to do anything significant without any real compensation and that I would also need substantial information in order to base any decision as to whether to help you in a significant way or not. If you are looking for free help, then please note that my webpages here are freely accessible for you to read and that you can move on from there.

This website presents a lot of freely-accessible information as well as a lot of commentary. IF YOU WANT MORE THAN WHAT IS PROVIDED HERE, THEN YOU EITHER HAVE TO DO THE RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS YOURSELF, OR YOU HAVE TO PAY A RESEARCH FIRM, OR YOU CAN HIRE ME TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR PROJECT. I have already posted a lot of FREE information and links on these webpages that can be used as a starting point for those folks who want to do their own research.
