SAINT JOHN, NEW BRUNSWICK, CANADA - February 28, 2000 - iMagicTV, a leading provider of interactive digital television software for service providers worldwide, today announced that QuébecTel, the second largest telecommunications company (telco) in Québec, has selected iMagicTV's leading-edge software to deliver new interactive multimedia services to its customers.
iMagicTV's television delivery and management software, DTV Manager, will enable QuébecTel to provide Internet interactive new multimedia services - on either the PC or TV - including digital TV channels, Web-based email, Internet browsing and Video on Demand (VOD) to consumers over its existing copper network.
"QuébecTel is committed to offering leading edge products and services to its customers with an unparalleled breadth in choice they can't get elsewhere," said Jacques Amiot, director of QuébecTel's ZEB project. "We chose to deploy iMagicTV's software because it enables us to quickly deploy these high-quality services without having to invest heavily in building a new network infrastructure. DTV Manager also integrates nicely with the back-end network software we already have in place and it allows QuébecTel to complement its established voice services with a new and exciting interactive multimedia option on either the PC or TV, while enabling us to compete in the entertainment marketplace."
