AMINO INTEGRATES FEATURE-RICH ANT FRESCOŽ BROWSER ACROSS ALL ITS INFORMATION APPLIANCES AND NETWORK DESIGNS

27 September 2000 - Amino Communications, the network appliance designer which develops technology for custom next generation network appliances, has licensed the ANT FrescoŽ web browser from leading embedded communication appliance software developer, ANT Limited, for use across all its information appliances and networked devices.

The ANT Fresco browser, ported onto Amino's IntAct modules in just one week, adds another element to Amino's development 'toolkit', providing a feature-rich browser suitable for a wide range of network devices. ANT's browser has a very small memory footprint, allowing Amino to integrate it into many designs for devices such as set top boxes, seat back entertainment systems, in-vehicle terminals, kiosks and so on.

"ANT's web browser allows us to accelerate the speed at which we can develop tailored networked products for our clients, putting them ahead of their competition," said David Dickin, Sales Director, Amino Communications. "It took Amino a matter of days to customise Fresco to implement graphics overlays and run a video within the browser. It's rare to find a software company that promises so much and is able to deliver on that promise."

Amino Communications develops and licences technology for a new wave of network appliances, meeting the demands of the new digital marketplace. Many of Amino's clients are currently planning to offer cutting edge services to consumers and businesses using a variety of these devices. Speed to market is a primary concern for these ventures with the aim of capturing first mover advantage. Amino can cut development time by up to 70% over traditional techniques.

Amino's patent-pending IntAct technology delivers flexible and adaptable solutions for businesses that enables them to exploit the rapidly changing online services market. The ease of portability, cost and time to market advantages of the ANT browser offer still more flexibility to Amino's customers.

"As our browser is processor and system software independent, it can easily be ported to a number of different platforms, especially important for OEMs planning to bring a range of appliances to market," said John Cherry, Vice President Sales and Marketing for ANT. "By including ANT Fresco in its offering, Amino is able to deliver its customers a very customisable and portable solution, adding further weight to its already strong technology design capability. This, combined with the inherent flexibility and power of our software products makes for an ideally suited partnership."
